Mole examination

Malignant melanoma is one of the most aggressive cancers. Early detection and rapid removal of melanoma are crucial.

The most effective method of melanoma prevention is the examination of moles (popularly known as „beauty spots”). At our Medical Centre, we offer non-invasive mole assessment using dermoscopy, which allows for the detection of concerning changes at an early stage. Moles that raise concern are surgically removed under local anaesthetic. Excised moles are assessed histopathologically.

Indications for mole examination

  • the presence of numerous pigmented moles on the skin
  • mole/moles that have changed colour, shape, size
  • the appearance of new, worrying moles
  • Additional family interview regarding melanoma
  • Chronic exposure to UV radiation as reported in an interview, sunburn as reported in an interview
