Surgical removal of benign skin and subcutaneous tumours, such as sebaceous cysts or lipomas, is performed under local anaesthetic. Sometimes an ultrasound examination of the lesion to be removed is necessary to determine its size and nature. The resected lesion is assessed by a histopathologist.
The surgical treatment plan is determined individually, depending on the nature and location of the lesion to be removed.
