Every surgical procedure is preceded by a thorough consultation and analysis of test results.

Diagnostics and testing

The basis of effective treatment at Our Medical Centre is accurate and precise diagnostics. During the surgical oncology consultation, a detailed assessment of the patient's health status is carried out in the context of surgical treatment options.

An oncology surgeon, during a consultation, establishes a diagnostic plan which includes the necessary tests for a full diagnosis and precise determination of the cancer's stage.

We perform biopsies and collect material for histopathological examination, the analysis of which is carried out by pathomorphologists from the University Clinical Centre. Accurate analysis allows us to confirm the nature of the lesion. Histopathological examinations are one of the most important stages in the diagnosis of many diseases, including cancers of internal organs, and a histopathological examination involves the microscopic analysis of a tissue fragment taken during a procedure or biopsy.

Procedures are performed under local anaesthesia, which minimises patient discomfort. In justified cases, at the patient's special request and in the absence of medical contraindications, it is possible to administer additional premedication, including sedatives and tension-reducing medications, which enhances comfort and the sense of security during the procedure.

A surgical oncology consultation also includes qualifying the patient for surgery, which requires a detailed assessment of the patient's health status.

An assessment of the patient's nutritional status is an essential part of the consultation, particularly in the case of patients with gastrointestinal cancers.

Surgical treatment of tumours

In the process of oncological treatment, accurate diagnostics always precedes it, which is crucial for determining further stages of therapy, and surgical treatment is one of the most important stages of cancer therapy. The goal of surgery is the complete removal of the tumour along with a margin of healthy tissue and, if necessary, lymph nodes.

Individual approach to the patient

At Our Medical Centre, every treatment is individual. We take into account the type of cancer, its stage of development, and the patient's overall health. We ensure safety and comfort at every stage – from consultation, through surgical procedure, to post-operative check-ups.
